Miss/Mini Miss NPCC entry deadline

The Northern Portugal Cultural Centre (NPCC) Board of Directors asks any eligible candidates that are interested in representing our club as Miss NPCC 2024/2025 to please submit your name and contact information along with a brief outline of why you would like to represent our club as Miss NPCC to cristina@northernportugal.org.
Mini Miss NPCC 2024/2025
We are also asking for submission of names and contact information for the Mini Miss 2024/2025. Any parents interested in having their daughter represent the club, please submit their name and birthdate via email to cristina@northernportugal.org. Mini Miss selection will be by the draw of a name if there is more than one entry/candidate.
We ask that all submissions be received by no later than Sunday, March 10, 2024. Please be advised that candidates must meet the following criteria:
Miss NPCC
- Contestant must be a member (in good standing) of the Northern Portugal Cultural Centre [either an individual member (if over 18) or a part of the family membership for those under 18].
- Contestant must be 16 – 21 years of age (at time of Queens Court Ball: Saturday, May 11, 2024).
- Contestants must be single (never having been married; never having lived in a common-law relationship; nor presently living in a common-law relationship; and not having any children).
- Contestants must be residents of Durham Region.
- Must be available for the Queens Court Ball on Saturday, May 11 from 1pm to Midnight.
- Must be available for a dress rehearsal the week prior to the Queens Court Ball.
- Must be available for Fiesta Concert on Sunday, June 16.
- Must be available for Fiesta Week (to tour pavilions and act as NPCC ambassador) – June 17 to 22.
- Candidates who were previously appointed Miss NPCC cannot participate in 2 consecutive years – thus, must wait a full year after the end of their appointment to be considered eligible again.
Mini Miss NPCC
- Contestant must be a member (in good standing) of the Northern Portugal Cultural Centre[either an individual member (if over 18) or a part of the family membership for those under 18].
- Contestant must between 5 – 8 years of age (at time of Queens Court Ball: Saturday, May 11). Note: for 2024 Oshawa Folk Arts Council has changed the age range up to 8 yrs old – previously it was up to 7 yrs old.
- Contestant must be a resident of Durham Region.
- Must be available for Queens Court Ball on Saturday, May 11 at 6:00 pm (time subject to change).
- Must be Available for Fiesta Concert on Sunday, June 16.
- Must be available for Fiesta Week at Northern Portugal Pavilion to act as in-house junior ambassador (Thurs. June 20 to Sat. June 22 when our pavilion is open).
