DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Portuguese heritage in Oshawa!Join us on May 8 as we honour the history and vibrant culture of Portuguese immigration to Canada. This is a day for our community to come together\, celebrate our heritage\, and support an important cause.Schedule• 4:00 PM: Flag Raising Ceremony at Oshawa City Hall.• Reception to follow: Northern Portugal Cultural Centre for an evening of tradition and music.Entertainment• Traditional Folclore performance by Rancho do Minho de Oshawa.• Live musical performance by Sara Dantas.Admission & reservationsAdmission is free\, though we kindly encourage donations at the door.Dinner reservations: While the flag raising is open to all\, please reserve your spot for the dinner reception to help us with food orders by contacting:• Phone: 905-576-2474• Email: melannie@northernportugal.orgAll proceeds from the event will be donated to the Magellan Community Foundation\, an organization dedicated to building a culturally tailored long-term care home and affordable housing for our seniors.Since 2013\, Oshawa has proudly celebrated our Portuguese-Canadian journey.
