O Mensal for October 2012 is here!
I’d like to welcome our new subscribers and let everyone know that our newsletter and most of our publications are bilingual. As a general rule we usually place the portuguese text first followed by the english, but occasionally english and portuguese appear together – Miguel’s golf article is an example.
A small team of people have helped me bring this month’s Mensal to life – Miguel Araujo, Mark Ganhao, Maya Ganhao, Sergio Matos, Dianne Rainho, Rafael Roberto, Portugal Groceries and Nova Era in Ajax. Thank you all for your help with the words, photos, printing and distribution.
October 27th @ 6pm Join us for Joanne, Louis & Rose’s Ninth Annual Halloween Party. It was just pointed out to me that failed to mention our DJ in our Sarrabulho social media campaign – as much as I enjoy pumping my body full of caffeine and working through the night, 1am is probably not the best time to proof-read email blasts!
Sound, lights and DJ for Sarrabulho and our New Year’s Eve Party (details to come) will be provided by our friends at TNT FX . For those asking, “Who is TNT FX?” They are TNT Productions rebranded new name, new logo (designed by me!), new website, same reliable company.
Sarrabulho is an event which revolves around our magnificent folklore and delicious food. This year we will feature live folklore performances by Rancho Folclórico das Províncias e Ilhas de Portugal from Hamilton and our own Rancho do Minho de Oshawa, followed by dancing for the rest of the night.
The man behind LusoCanada.com is Paulo Pereira. He has been a friend of mine and more importantly a friend of the Portuguese community for a very long time. In one of his many visits to our Centre we discussed his website and the positive affect it will have on Luso Canadians. Below is today’s blog entry written by Paulo himself (in portuguese and english) explaining exactly what LusoCanada.com is and where it’s going.
