Title: Festa de Solidariedade – A Fundraiser for a Member of our Community
Description: This event is a fundraiser for Jose Manuel Trindade a member of our community who recently suffered a major stroke which has left him unable to work.
There is no entry fee, but we will be accepting monetary donations at the front door. All donations will be used to help pay for José Manuel’s medical expenses.
On the menu will be bacalhau com batatas a murro (roasted codfish with potatoes), chicken, rabbit and an assortment of other foods plus dessert.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this year’s Oshawa Fiesta Week Parade and thanks to everyone who worked organizing and building props and our float – job well done. Our entry which represented “A Portuguese Festival in a Fantastic City” won three awards – Best Ethnic Entry, Best Float (Runner-Up) and Best Children’s Participation.

Description: Our annual picnic has been scheduled for the Canada Day Long Weekend! Two days, one price. Bring your tents and stay the night, or join us during the day.
Some of the free events will include soccer games, movie night for the kids, music and “sardinhas com pão”.

Title: Festa da Concertina

Description: The concertina is a wonderful instrument similar to the acordian which is the basis of the folk music of Northern Portugal’s Minho region.
To celebrate this instrument (we just need an excuse to celebrate!), we’ve invited some of the best concertina players from the GTA to come perform along side our very own Henrique Pereira and Davy Neves.
Food will be on sale….yum!
