Description: We invite you to join us for our Spring Celebration to celebrate the success of our ACAPO / NPCC Scholarship, where we will be honouring this year’s recipient, each of our sponsors, judges and ACAPO for initiating this program. We will be serving a roast beef dinner and Os Panteras will be performing. Additionally we will be presenting our Miss and Mini Miss NPCC for 2013.
Tickets prices are $30 for adults, $35 for non-member adults, $20 for youths (12-17), $10 for children (7-11) and free for children 6 and under.

60th Anniversary of Portuguese Immigration to Canada

It is official! The portuguese flag will fly above Oshawa City Hall from May 13 to June 10, 2013 to celebrate two important events for all Luso-Canadians – the 60th Anniversary of Portuguese Immigration to Canada and Dia de Camões which many of us recognize as Portugal Day. The request which was put forth by the Northern Portugal Cultural Centre and the Oshawa Portuguese Club was approved by Oshawa City Council at Monday’s council meeting.

Festa da Familia

Description: Since Family Day and Valentine’s Day both land in February, we thought it would be fun to hold a “Family Festa” with a Red White & Black theme.

The Festa will be held on Saturday, February 23rd with doors opening for cocktails at 5:30 and dinner at 6:30. A delicious meal consisting of Caldo Verde, fish filets, rice and salad will prepared by our kitchen crew and music will be provided by Mark Ganhão from New Age Entertainment. We will also have door prizes and raffles. To keep with the theme, we’re asking that everyone dress in red, white and/or black.

Description: Our 21 member team is hosting a Moustache Party to end a month of furry upper lips!Your donation is the price of admission. You can donate online (click the link), in person to one of the team members or at the party…..and remember , for every $10 you donate, we will enter your name into a draw for some fabulous prizes donated by friends of our community – Sandra Dantas from Sutton Realty, José Manuel and Sharlene DeSousa from Desousa Homes, the team at Ritson Tile and hopefully some more to come.

Our youth group LYTE will be serving appetizers and music will be supplied by Mark Ganhão.

Festa do Socio

Our next event is the NPCC annual homage to its members. Historically held around St. Martin’s Day (November 11), this event is based around the magusto festival where groups of friends and family gather around camp fires throughout Portugal to roast chestnuts, drink the new wine, sing and dance.

Sarrabulho 2012

Sarrabulho is an event which revolves around our magnificent folklore and delicious food. This year we will feature live folklore performances by Rancho Folclórico das Províncias e Ilhas de Portugal from Hamilton and our own Rancho do Minho de Oshawa, followed by dancing for the rest of the night.
